Commitments

Hey ya'll, I've got a story to tell you.  You see, I am a ninth grader at a school that looks like a dungeon.  The horrid walls trap and crush my soul daily.  But, there is an escape.  My school goes by a block schedule and red days are a relief to me.  There are two periods in school that scream escape to me and I look forward to these blissful moments of life. You see....

I'm kind of an artsy fartsy, or a silly sally mind you.  I'm creative, crafty and kooky.  One of the two periods that I'm going to be talking about is the one called Band.

My band program is very well organized.  We have two big classes of high school bands, and they are Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble.  I'm currently a flute player in Symphonic Band.  One of my aspirations in band is to make it into the Wind Ensemble.  And with this goal, there are some...complications.

My band teacher, Mr. Taylor, decided that Wind Ensemble would be a small band with the best and the brightest of band students.  He narrows down the band by doing auditions.  That dreaded things that's going to make me cry.  I'm going to have to play pieces of music for him that showcase my abilities.  And I'm screwed.  I like being invisible, but I don't.  But I do. But I don't, which is why I'm going to acquire some pieces of music and play solos for him.  I'm going to cry, because I'm going to get super nervous.

Well, that's my rant about band and there's nothing else I have to say, so adios.
